History Of TEAZURThe History of The band
"BRUTAL IMAGE" first started in late 2006 with guitar player John Bedinghaus, drummer Mike Reiner, vocalist Jeff Cross and bass player Brady Stillwell. After a couple of gigs (The Oasis in Texarkana, & Side Pocket in Kilgore) Brady left the band and Jon Morrow was added on bass guitar. After some suggesting from clubs and lots of names being thrown around we finally decided to change the name of the band to TEAZUR, Jon Morrow came up with the alternate spelling. Our idea was to play very up tempo party style of rock and have as much fun as possible.
2007 started off with gigs at Kat's in Tyler which pretty much ended up being our home away from home. Kat's loved TEAZUR and TEAZUR love Kat and all the people at Kat's. We slowly built up a nice list of venues (Shooter's - Texarkana, Arkansas; Einstein's - Eldorado, Arkansas; Bullfrogs - Nacogdoches, Texas; Fat Jack's - Texarkana, Arkansas; Club Down Under - Tyler, Texas; Texas Player's - Longview, Texas and Rock Star Sports Bar - Ft. Worth, Texas) We played 35 weekend in 2007 and had a blast playing and being great friends.
2008 continued on just about like the past year with lots of live shows. We also entered the studio and recorded (5) original songs (Tied Down, Be There, Hedge Hog, Lust and Glutton) and burned them to CD and passed them out at live shows with a good bit of positive feedback. In June John Bedinghaus called a meeting and decided due to family and other personal reasons he would be leaving the band, John's last show was on May 31st. After a few auditions we hired guitar player Buddy St. Clair to take over the guitar work. He played with us until October of 2008 when Jeff Cross to due to family and personal reasons left the band. Jeff played his last show with TEAZUR on October 11th, this left Mike Reiner and Jon Morrow with the decision to either fill the positions or call an end to the project. We decided to move forward and keep on rockin!
2009 began with the addition of Tim King on vocals and Clint McMullen on guitar. TEAZUR again was booked solid from April thru June of that year when Jon Morrow decided he was leaving to pursue some different things musically. Jon played his last show June 20th and Stacy Shew was added to take over the bass duties. At that same time as a band, TEAZUR decided to add John Bedinghaus back into the fold to open up new avenues. We never missed a beat and played our first show as a 5 piece on July 4th. We continued to play shows as much as possible. We also were working on new original material and were in the studio recording 4 new songs. (Piece Of Mind, Take A Chance, Yesterday and Look My way) After some serious soul searching TEAZUR decided to go in a different direction with members, and Clint McMullen was let go to pursue the music he loves most. Clint's last show was on September 25th, he now plays with the Jim Day Project check em out!
Since September TEAZUR has found a new found love for the music they play and write. We have been working in the studio recording another four songs (And She Danced, Daydream, Carry Me Away and Your Love) and are also in the process of writing and are almost through with an additional five new songs. We hope sometime this year to finish recording them and package for sale a full length CD.
TEAZUR would like to thank all of you that have supported us though out this wonderful ride and hope that you will continue to support us in the future! We hope to have a fantastic 2010 and wish each and everyone of you the best NEW YEAR possible!!
REMEMBER.............IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FUN!!
